FIREPROOFINGSpray Fire Resistive Materials (SRFM) |
|
Fireproofing is a spray-applied material that when applied to structural elements of new or retrofit commercial/industrial construction and petrochemical facilities, provides fire protection to help prevent the building from collapsing before its occupants can evacuate safely. Actual service conditions such as exposure, occupant use, and type of construction will dictate the type of fire resistive material chosen for a particular project. Fireproofing can take the form of a cement based slurry, a mineral wool spray or board stock, and will provide a fire-rated component that meets building codes and "UL" fire resistance criteria. |
